Mom-Approved Essentials for Your New Baby: A Must-Have List from a Mom of 3

Navigating the world of baby products can be overwhelming, especially for new parents. As a mom of three, I've tested and tried numerous items, and I'm excited to share my top must-haves for welcoming a new baby into your home. While some of these products may fall on the pricier side, consider adding them to your baby registry for a stress-free and well-prepared start!

Number 1: Owlet Dream Sock - Smart Baby Monitor This smart baby monitor was a game-changer for me, especially when I brought home my twins. It provides peace of mind by allowing you to track your baby's oxygen levels and sleep patterns, offering a secure feeling for both mom and dad during those crucial first months.

Number 2: SNOO Smart Sleeper Baby Bassinet

Initially skeptical due to the price, I eventually found this bedside crib to be an absolute game-changer. With automatic rocking motions and soothing white noise, the SNOO Smart Sleeper is a natural sleep training solution. It was my first line of defense with my newborn twins, significantly reducing nighttime waking. While it's a pricier item, the benefits make it well worth the investment, especially if you can swing it. Rental options are also available.

Number 3: Miracle Blanket Swaddle Wrap: Stand the test of time with this newborn essential baby blanket. The Miracle Blanket Swaddle Wrap includes an insert that keeps baby's arms snug, preventing any Houdini-like escapes from their swaddle. A timeless favorite that I used with my firstborn over 10 years ago and even occasionally with the twins when the SNOO wasn't in use.

Number 4: Baby Shusher

A must-have in my hospital bag that was mentioned in my other post and a lifesaver until my twins were 1.5 years old. The Baby Shusher is perfect for calming babies when traditional methods fall short. It mimics a soothing shushing sound, helping babies transition to a calm state. Keep in mind that it turns off after 30 minutes, so if it's your primary sound machine, be prepared for the occasional wake-up when it shuts off.

Number 5: Elvie or Willow Hands-Free Breast Pump

While this one is more for mom, it was a true game-changer for me, especially during the time I was exclusively pumping for the twins. The hands-free Elvie or Willow breast pump allowed me to multitask, making pumping sessions more bearable. Whether washing dishes, being around others, or heading to appointments, the convenience of these pumps was a significant relief compared to traditional pumping methods.

Incorporating these tried-and-true essentials into your baby registry can set you up for a smoother journey into parenthood. Happy parenting!
